Aloha!  Welcome to our Temple - Hilo Hooganji Mission.  This site is to encourage our current members, as well as others, seeking to learn more about Shingon Buddhism and Kobo Daishi.  According to the teachings of Buddha, "If we open our eyes, the Buddha-Dharma can be seen everyshere."  Let's open our eyes and obtain a happy life with Buddha's Blessing.

By aspiring to become enlightened and by having a firm faith in the vows of the Buddhas, we know that in and of themselves the essential nature of all things is pure at heart.  When in words, deeds and in all of our thoughts we hold firmly to a heart that loves all things in the world and to a mind that seeks the truth, we shall realize the truth and gain the wisdom practiced by the Buddha.
